“ Maaan ever since I saw the high review score on this place, I knew I had to check it out. Severely disappointed that I waited so long. I had a 2 piece fish and chips to try it and it was super light and crispy, perfectly fried. Fries also perfectly cooked and crispy. I believe the tartar sauce is handmade and its flavorful and yummy. There are a lot of other things like clams and oysters on the menu. Ill have to try them all. You will wanna come back here once you have been. The people running it are the most friendly and welcoming and pleasant people ever. I sense awards in their future. Cant say enough good stuff about this place. The rating is legit!! ”
“ THE BEST FISH CHIPS RESTAURANT IN SACRAMENTO! 100 AWESOME! Holy moly, I freaking LOVE this place! The owners and all of the employees are nice and just cool! Their place is always clean, food is always spoton, their homemade tartar sauce is perfectly addictive and I get a craving every week or so for the Ocean and we just have to go! Give this place a shot, even their new bags have little holes punched in the bottom so the food doesnt get all soggy on the trip home. Locally owned and operated, so thats a huge plus!!! ”
“ We have been wanting to try this place. It was well worth the drive from Elk Grove The fish,shrimp, mushrooms and fries were all hot,crispy and delicious. There were plenty of condiments in squeeze bottles and the tarter sauce was cold and tasted great. The fish pieces were quite large but a little thin in some spots but was so crispy. We are looking forward to trying their onion rings and zucchini next time. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We left full and was wished a good day from several employees. ”

“ Ocean Fish Chips is a historic fish chips spot serving the Sacramento community for 20 years. Ill say that it is one of the best and most consistent fish chips spots in Sacramento. The fish is big, light, crispy, and perfect with the AYCE tartar sauce. You do not have to pay for extra Tatar sauce, which is quite rare for most fish and chips spots. You get your own squeeze bottle. The actual fish is a little underseasoned but thats okay sometimes and dipping in the tartar sauce fixes that. 3 piece fish and chips feeds more than enough for 2 people. Crab cakes are frozen but very consistent and never disappoint. Its salty, crispy, and has a strong crab flavoring. The chowder tasted homemade and tasted like average consistent chowder. ”

Its not greasy and based on the coloring of the batter, I can tell that it wasnt fried in old oil. Im super impressed. Will for sure come back! ”
